Oh Dear, Poor Vampire

I love that vampire is back, but there is a whole lot of reasons why I still don’t buy much more of this hype.

Let’s start with the fundamentals of this kit: The armor and weapon. The armor has 8 resistance points and 8 levels of protection total. The weapon is a sharpness I iron sword. This alone sounds okay on paper, except when you realize there is a kit with even better than this already: Crossbow. Crossbow has 9 resistance points and 9 levels of protection, with an iron sword sharpness I. It gets worse, crossbow would never be able to use their sword against any normal PvP’er without the help of speed I and their mighty bow. What do you think will happen to a kit with less resistance and no other answers of such? Already, crossbow simply outclasses vampire in all respects.

What about the bat signal? Well apart from the fact if you right click it on the ground, you will actually spawn a bat (bugged af), but the ability is also inferior to many other kits. The left click a player is easily countered by sneaking. You are simply just better off playing shrek and throwing them instead of this garbage. The right click becomes a controlled run away ability, which sounds okay, except there is a kit that does this a whole lot better: glider. Glider has the extra resistance and damage over vampire. Their ender pearls also have added speed over the bat, as well as they cannot be killed, making them a whole lot more useful for being able to run away than vampire. Yeah sure you only get 5 ender pearls, but that is plenty for you to escape most, if not all conflicts, even with the cooldown.

And of course, this leads us to the final ability: gain extra hp. You can only gain this extra hp if you are able to defeat targets. If you are striking with only sharp I iron, you aren’t going to get far with this kit (also rip no unbreaking on the iron sword x’D). This hp pool is also capped at 5 hearts! Talk about ridiculous… The cap should be more like 25 - 30 hearts, because as you get more kills, your armor starts to break, and when your armor breaks, your extra hp isn’t going to matter, because you will be taking way too much damage.

Vampire is still tier 5 imo and is still probably worse than groundhog… At least it is an improvement than before…

What should I suggest for a solution? Let’s start by getting rid of that bat crap, it isn’t really that useful for the vampire, and lets add a unique ability only a vampire can do: LIFESTEAL! With lifesteal, you can keep the armor and sword the same as before and make the kit kind of similar to snail/viper: 10 - 20 % chance per strike to steal 1 - 2 hearts of health from the target. That way, this kit can have some viability, even when the armor begins to break!

I know I should be grateful that the staff team actually did listen to my plea to bring vampire back, but it’s in the same predicament as before, and I really hope they find a way to get it unstuck, otherwise its just going to fall out of play, similar to bomberman.

Agreed on everything. Vampire has a lot of potential, yet there seems to be a lack of someone who knows how to balance on the Munchy team (this is where @1BowStringer should come in tbh).

Also, you get one enderpearl per kill with Glider, so you can have much more than 5

I kinda liked the ability before, where you sat on their head. I didn’t see the issue, to be honest.

TY for the post. I think the bat ability is more useful than your making it out to be to be honest. We’re fixing a lot of the bugs and a lot of the adjustments we’d planned for a lot of the kits were coming out in todays update. However thank you for keeping on top of things.

no it’s actually very bad it’s extremely slow & if there’s a fisherman within a 40 block radius (which there always is considering fisherman is now a free kit) they’ll just cancel the ability, it need to get a major buff if it’ll stay the way it is.

It’s not meant to be falcon. Just because a few kits counter it’s abilities is not a bad thing.

We’ve released part 2 of this update. Some of the bugs and issues you mentioned in your last post are fixed.

no that’s not what I meant, if there are multiple kits that can cancel its ability within 2-3 seconds of activating the ability then it’s not really useful considering how many of those kits there are

I’ve just played Vampire for about 6 hours straight, and I can safely say that the max hearts needs to be changed to 20 instead of 15.

Pretty much the second line in the description of my take on redone Vampire:
