Hello Munchies.
We have just published the new winter crates to our survival server. Alongside the brand new holiday-themed gadgets, particles, and pets, the 2021 winter crates will also contain a brand new type of cosmetics: hats. These hats were modelled completely from scratch by our amazing and incredibly talented @DragonsMaker. Please give him some love!
When joining the server, you will be asked to install a server-side resource pack. This is completely optional but it will allow you to see and enjoy all of the exciting new content. Otherwise, all hats will just look like carved pumpkins to you. To prevent it from being re-downloaded every time you join, add Munchy to your server list and enable server resource packs in the settings.
But now back to the actual content. We have added a total of 8 hats. 3 to the new winter crates, 2 to the regular crates, and 3 to the buycraft store. As with all new crate contents, one of you guys will need to unbox the hats if you want to know what they look like. We will not give any spoilers. But don’t worry, we will give you guys a first look at the 3 hats that you cannot find in the crates. Instead, you can buy them directly from the store in a holiday-themed hat bundle. Let’s take a look:

While you can experience all the new content in any version of the game that is newer than 1.14, we encourage the use of Optifine. Using Optifine allows you to enable “emissive textures” which makes the lights on the Christmas tree and the reindeer nose glow.
Finally, we will also start an exciting new Christmas event this week. Be on the lookout for “Mrs Claus” at the survival spawn and check in every day for our “12 days of Christmas”!
