Why are so many people using ai art and stealing art online. Not a big deal but it’s frustrating to see how many people are using people’s artwork without credit and making them into map art. I get it, get your cash, but at least credit the og artist :( and the forums has had ai art and I ended up having an argument about it. I feel like munchy is lowkey disrespectful to artists??? Idk okay bye

I do like how they’re using actual people art tho I fw the artist showcase in newsletters but I wish ppl starred stuff more (looking at you, haters who don’t like my stuff)

Would you wanna buy a mapart at your base with credits put „made originally on google by websitelink” ? It’s cleaner without

Unless a mapart is for a competition that specifically states to use your own art, I don’t really see an issue in wanting cute art pieces on survival 
, especially when people don’t specifically credit the artwork as their own anyways. We try to give opportunities for original artwork with competitions/events like the current art competition, but other than that we like to let players have freedom with the art they’d like to have in-game as they make for some pretty adorable decorations 
. We did however used to have more frequent art competitions in past seasons that weren’t server-specific when we had higher player counts. If people would be interested in that again I’d be happy to throw something together in the future! :)

since idc what yall think of me anyways, i dont gaf if you think its wrong. im an artist who thinks its weird. i see an issue with using peoples art and using it for in game money, and i myself find it weird. no one gave permission for their art to be used in game, i get it if you ask the artist or if its an old piece you use it, but its just??? weird??? Just add credits, and just. Put it on a sign??, im not being mean or anything im just saying its weird. yall weird lowkey about it but thats just me

.. my issue here is you don’t always know the artist. Or what if it’s a taken photo from a random search? You don’t always have someone to credit.
Also this’ll be my last response here since I don’t wanna argue abt it

I do not like when people do not credit artists and all it takes is one reverse google search 
People who make art take a long time to make art, and they put effort into it. All I’m asking for is a sign crediting the artists. That’s it.
Reverse image search, and if that’s too much effort then why make map art which takes a lot of effort in the first place

If you’re like me and you use pinterest that already is a bunch of reuploads. I’ll sometimes see the same image posted by multiple different people so there credit is impossible to give. In this case it’s the artist’s responsibility in my opinion. If you don’t want your art used on the internet then don’t post it, or if you absolutely must use a watermark. If you know the artist then sure credit but most artists that I have seen will make it very known if they care if their art is used or not. AI art stinks though
