Here’s why the purgatory section is systematically racist. It mimics the United States system of the “good guys” being police and keeping the criminals (mainly people of color) in check. With this in mind, let’s look at the server.
The “police” are the trollers, who are essentially given hacking abilities, and the “criminals” are the people who have been banned. Now that this is clear, let’s keep in mind that they system is also very corrupt. It targets these “criminals” in order to make sure that that group of people stay in check. But let’s take a moment to go back in time where the police system started.
The first police system of the United States was to capture and return runaway slaves. This has been the system for many years until the 13th amendment when African Americans were “freed” from being slaves. The only part that changed is that these previous slaves were now being jailed to do work and get paid nearly nothing. If they wanted to be free they would have to do labor for weeks to months while also being beaten/killed for the color of their skin. Then when they were released, the system would come after them again to put them in an endless cycle so work could be done for cheap aka slavery.
Now applying this to the server, people are banned and put here to do work, being tortured whilst doing so (set on fire, webbed, buried alive, etc.). If this is the system that the server will run off of, it can be seen as racist and corrupt.
What I’m implying is that people who have been banned should be left alone to do work until they have corrected their wrongs and have learned from the process. If this means adding more work to their goal list, then so be it. But please consider removing the ability for people to troll, because it is only causing more problems. Not to mention that the server encourages people buying their freedom, which targets the lower class who are typically considered to be criminals/POC.
Thank you for your time and please consider.
(I am not asking to be unbanned. I will do the work to show that I have corrected my wrongs.)
