hi people who dont know math

for question #8 you’re given an infinite geometric sequence with the first term being 1 and the quotient being 1/2 (every term is equal to the previous term multiplied by 1/2)

the sum of an infinite (infinite and finite geometric sequences have different sum formulas) geometric sequence is given by the formula S = a1/(1 - q)

therefore we substitute in a1 = 1 and q = 1/2 and we get:
S = 1/(1 - 1/2) = 1/(1/2) = 2
