Purgatory, A guide for trolls and the trolled

Hello everyone! Welcome to my guide to purgatory. This will be split into 3 sections. (Trolls, Defenders & Players)

Defenders

If you’re looking in here, you’re looking for tips on how to help Players with your trolls.

Helpful Trolls: Free Shovels!, Free Cake, Pit, TNT, Mole, Storm, Pumpkin, Bouncy, Speed, Web, Obsidian, Jump Boost & Swap.

Storm, Bouncy, Swap & Mole are what I like to call “Player Manipulation” trolls. They change a player’s position. Helpful for avoiding lava or rogue hackers that are flyhacking and killing everyone in sight.

Free Cake is helpful for restoring the hunger of the Players.
Free Shovels! is helpful for giving players fuel for their furnaces.

Speed is good for helping players get out of the spawn region quickly.
Jump Boost also gives fall damage resistance, so if they are about to die from fall damage you can save them this way.

Obsidian replaces the block they are looking at, allowing them to potentially erase Lava.

Cobweb & Pit can be used to prevent suffocation, and Cobweb also helps prevent fall damage, and can give a refill on air underwater.

Pumpkin also helps remove Curse of Binding items (rare but still a thing that could happen) and gives them another block to work with.

TNT can help with getting players out of tight areas.

Tips for the Trolled

The farther away you are from a block, the less chance something will affect it. The biggest danger to your chests/furnaces is Magma & Obsidian, both of which can be prevented by looking near the block when not using it.
Always have an escape plan ready incase TNT triggers and you need to flee.
Always have a pick, shovel & sword in your hot bar.
It is helpful if you have enough room in your hotbar to split your food into smaller chunks, as that way Dropper would not drop as much food.
In addition, move valuable items out of your hotbar. This prevents them from being Dropped.
Keep at least one empty space in your inventory when you have a helmet on, so that way Pumpkin does not drop the item.
Remember you do not need to move while Speed is on you, to avoid dashing into a large pit and dying of fall damage.
Crafting a water bucket can help with Lava & Fall damage.
Items (ore blocks in particular) that come from nowhere are traps and will explode if you get near them.
There are no creeper trolls, so if you hear a creeper sound in daylight and you know there are no existing mobs, then you know it is one of the sound effect trolls.
If you suspect Thief has been used on you, wait 5 seconds and step away from the items, looking in a direction (not exactly 180 degrees away to prevent Flip -> Magma) before picking up your items.
Turn off your particles, this prevents Smokescreen from decreasing your vision.
If someone uses Lag Stick on you, wait a bit before making a jump.

Guide for the Trolls

Using Mole -> Magma/Obsidian can lead to almost certain death
Likewise, using Web then Magma will spawn Magma on them.
Faked helps if you tell them where the drop is.
Scramble your victim’s inventory before using Dropper for a higher chance of getting a valuable item.
Wait ~20 seconds before pointing out you’ve dropped an item, and have Thief troll ready in case they run back.
You can use Pumpkin to remove a player’s hat, and then drop it from their inventory.
Sound Effect trolls suck, dont waste your time on them.
Flip helps when they are mining something for 10+ seconds (Obsidian?)
Remember to check where they are looking before using Magma/Obsidian
If you can manipulate their position right after dropping an item, it makes it harder to remember where they dropped it.
Scrambling their inventory/Using paralysis and then using mole is a good combo.
Web does not work underwater, Obsidian does and Magma turns into Obsidian. All of these trolls affect their head block underwater.

Using both mob trolls at once could overwhelm them.
Waiting until they see a valuable ore and then use ore troll is cruel but funny.
Burn doesnt work underwater.

Guide for the normal Trolls
Using Mole and continuously /tp to that player in a 1/2 second tact is as good as Mole + Magma/Obsidian.
Likewise, using web and then flying into the player blocking their view towards the hitbox of the cobweb can prevent them from ever breaking it, especially when they play in 1.7…
If they mine blocks, try to stand in the way, be always in the player to block their ability to break the blocks they are facing to, this can be even more frustrating for them, when they play in 1.7, as the block breaking state is not saved, when an entity hitbox goes in the way, reseting it every time you go in.
Don’t use sound or visual trolls, they can have sounds off and a resource pack, that has invisible explosion particles.
Flip helps, when they try to escape spawn or try to jump over a deep pit

Advanced normal Troll
Water is your greatest enemy, go into /adventure and remove any water in sight, these players may be able to refill their water at, when they lost it to your actions.
The following requires 2 trollers: Get your storm troll ready, the first troller has to storm the player, the second troll has to storm the player, as it does it’s water mlg, so the player loses the water and actually takes fall damage from the troll.

Spot the Trolls
Using a resource pack, you can see the exact position of a troll, when they are holding a troll item, to be able to look into their souls.
The troll has to hide it’s items as best as they can, because the aformentioned resource pack is currently in my development. (it’s on hiatus for like a year now)

Thank you for the guide!

A simpler way to prevent MLG water (if you are a donor) is to scramble their inventory the second before it hits the ground. They wont be able to process where the new bucket location is in the split second before they die and they take fall damage.

I’m pretty sure if you aren’t slow then you would be able to process where the bucket is

That’s the point, a normal Troll is, as “normal” says, not a donor.

image explain this then

Visual bug, explain me this, do they take damage under water, when they are like this, without drowning?
It’s the same when you die from fire, you still are burning on your screen, but not for the server or any other player.

The scrambler might move the bucket out of their inventory. Now, if you can do an MLG water by finding a water bucket in your full inventory, moving it to your hotbar and placing it all in 2 or less seconds i’m impressed.
