Do you have any punishments on our network? If so, please describe your side of story:
I do, unfortunately, have a past history of punishments on Munchy. Most notably being for cheating. However, I have since learned and grown from this. Not only have my punishments helped shape me and make me understand why cheating is a bad thing, but it has also given me the opportunity to understand how cheats work, and how I can help prevent people from using them. It also allows me to identify cheats much easier. I am not proud of my past, but I think that I have learned from it, and I think that am a much better person now that I have realized cheating is not worth it.
As for my other punishments, they are more console punishments. Most of them are from Console Mutes on Prison, usually when spamming friends via /msg and not in public chat, or kicks from higher-ups as jokes.
Have you applied for this role before? If so, please explain the steps you have taken to improve as an applicant since your last application:
This is my first time applying for the role of JMod on Munchy, and any staff role on Munchy, in fact.
What do you think your reputation is like within the community?
I personally believe that I am pretty reputable in the community. Having joined Munchy in early 2019, I have gained a good reputation, and made many friends along my journey through playing the server. Some people have told me that they look up to me and that honestly is what I needed to push me to apply. Seeing that I already make a difference within people is enough to fuel me to become the best staff member I can be.
Why are you interested in the role and what motivated you to apply?
I am interested in applying for the JMod position. My main motivation has been the people that want to see me make it. The fact that there are people outside of myself that think that I can do it pushes me, and I don’t want to let them down. On top of that, I have been playing Munchy for close to 3 years at this point, and becoming staff has always been one of my goals. I’ve thought about applying during some of the past staff seasons, but I didn’t think I was fully ready and prepared to become staff, but now, I believe I have developed enough as a person to apply and genuinely make a positive impact in this community by being a staff member.
Out of 10 (with 10 being very knowledgeable), how would you rate your knowledge on moderating a community?
I would honestly give myself a solid 8. I think I personally am able to handle a community such as Munchy’s pretty well. Having played the server for 3 years, and been endorsed in the community over the past two years, I think it’s safe to say that I am knowledgeable when it comes with things such as answering questions, responding to reports, providing responses to tickets, and just overall everyday tasks of staff members. The only reason I don’t give myself a 9 or a 10 is because I think there is still things that I can learn. No one is perfect, and everyone makes mistakes, so there will be more skills that I will have to develop as I do the actual work. I also have limited staff experience, unfortunately. To make up for this, I am friends with multiple staff members from various servers, and I often talk to them a lot about what it means to be a staff member, what effort it takes, and how I can improve myself as a community member to better prepare myself for being a member of the staff team.
Out of 10 (with 10 being very knowledgeable), what would you rate your knowledge on Minecraft hacks and cheats, including finding and identifying cheaters?
With identifying cheats, as well as finding and singling out cheaters, I would give myself a 7.5. I have seen many, many cheaters in my time. From being on both ends (during my past, I had cheated. Not directly on Munchy, but it is still not something I should be proud of. However, over the past year and a half I have made improvements to myself to break this habit, and have done so successfully) of being cheated on to cheating, it makes it much easier to identify cheats, especially the nit picky ones. Some of the most common, more stealthy cheats used on servers are as followed:
KillAura # - Essentially fights for the user, and controls the user’s aim & hits.
Velocity # - Used for reducing Knockback, with users being able to directly control how much knockback they take vertically & horizontally and often used as an alternative to Anti Knockback.
AutoClicker # - Allows the user to click while not doing anything. Usually by holding down the Left-Click, or using a macro through a third-party software.
Reach # - Extends the distance that a user can hit someone else. The regular Minecraft reach is 3 blocks, and anything higher than that is obtained through cheating (unless the user is having connection issues, which will be taken into account when looking at users suspected for using reach)
Please link us to any hacker reports you have made (recorded and/or reported) on MunchyMC:
Due to the speed of Ares & the staff members catching cheaters before I am able to form a report on them, I currently only have one report, and it is in Purgatory.
I’ve also made several accurate reports directly to staff members through Discord DMs
Edit 1: Changed tags from KitPvP to Prison and changed what server I would like to moderate
Edit 2: Added extra information to reports section
