Do you have any punishments on our network? If so, please describe your side of the story: I have a ban, and 2 mutes.
My side of the story on my first mute was simply just a misunderstanding.
The second mute was for “the encouragement of spam”, I was warned to stop but the chat scrolled by while I wasn’t paying much attention to my screen, and then I said the message again, I was then shortly muted afterward.
Lastly, the reason for my ban was because I decided to not listen to a moderator, no more will be stated here why simply because I’m not sure if I’m allowed to.
Have you applied for this role before? If so, please explain the steps you have taken to improve as an applicant since your last application: Yes I have applied for JMod before, as an applicant I can say that I have grown a lot more, in the past I was definitely a lot more immature and rude. As time passed on I have changed and grown overall, I would say that I am a better person compared to who I was.
What do you think your reputation is like within the community?
My reputation overall would be positive, I’m active in chat when I’m on, randomly engaging with people I see and recognize. I find myself goofing around with my friends a lot on there trying to have a good time, having been on this server for a year or so I could say that the people that I talk to are just really nice.
Why are you interested in the role and what motivated you to apply?
I simply want to become friends with more people and expand my knowledge of the server, also in the process of being a moderator/helper I will grow as a person overall. Another motivation factor could also be learning, I really want to learn how more advanced anti-cheats work and how to read them. Lastly, from the people I’ve seen on there and how a person can change is just fascinating, and to think that a person just from interacting with somebody can change their whole perspective of the server. I want to be a player that people can go to for help when they need it, I want to be a person that can just help.
Out of 10 (with 10 being very knowledgeable), how would you rate your knowledge on moderating a community?
A solid 6/10 is what I would rate my knowledge of moderating a community. I know my basic chat rules and what to punish them based on what offense was made, although I don’t know how long I would need to punish someone based on what they did by this server’s standards. That would be another thing I would like to learn.
Out of 10 (with 10 being very knowledgeable), what would you rate your knowledge on Minecraft hacks and cheats, including finding and identifying cheaters? 6/10 I know how most cheats work and what they do, if a cheat is blatant then I could spot it from a mile away. Although, if somebody is using closet cheats that would be harder to see, which is another thing I want to learn how to spot when moderating.
A list of blatant cheats I think I could spot:
- Kill-aura: A flick type of motion that sends packets to the server to look a certain direction (and attack)
- Reach 3.5+ (Also depends on ping)
- Fly: You fly
- Aim-bot: similar to kill aura but without the attack motion and its less detectable depending on settings.
- Anti Knockback: You take no knockback.
