Hi, I’m IceBreaker420,The #1 fisher on prison, I’ve decided to make a guide for all the aspiring fishers out there.
This guide assumes you are at least fishing level 13 and can use Shrek’s lucky pole.
The current fishing meta allows for 3 different primary strategies for fishing, these are: Afk fishing, Normal fishing, and Worm fishing, each giving more xp and loot than the last, while also being more resource or time intensive.
Afk Fishing:
- Ugliest Duckling Rod
- Mermaid/Ariel Helmet, Chestplate, and leggings.
- Ghost boots or Mermaid boots (Ghost preferred)
Simply set up a fishing location in your cell and weight down your mouse with something simple like a shoe. It is recommended to put 1x of any item you don’t want dropped on the floor in your inventory, that way it will go in there instead of dropping on the floor. setting up a hopper system will also be beneficial
The ugliest duckling rod is currently bugged, afk fishing may not work
Vanilla/Normal fishing
The barrier to entry for normal fishing is incredibly low compared to all other methods, however unlike the other two requires significant time commitments to see good results. You will want to have all of the following
- Full Mermaid/Ariel Armor
- Luga’s Reel OR Ugly Duckling Rod OR Ugliest Duckling Rod (Primary Rod)
- Captain Hooks Reel/Rapid Reel
- Shrek’s Lucky/Luckiest Pole
- Luga’s net
- Ghost Spirit
- Cupid’s Catcher
While the items listed are what is required for the maximum set, it should be noted that if you are starting out , almost all of them are optional, a starter fishing set would likely look something like this
- Luga’s Net
- Luga’s Reel (Primary Rod)
- Captain Hook’s Reel
- Shrek’s Lucky Pole
- Full Mermaid armor
Most of these items can be obtained very easily, with the current state of the economy you can likely get a full mermaid set for $150-200m, however the mermaid hair should be gotten first.
With what you need out of the way How do I fish?
Equip your mermaid armor, find a good fishing spot, and start casting your primary rod. when you catch a Haste Egg or Hastefish get ready to activate your Shrek’s Lucky Pole, this is done by catching a single fish with the pole when it is enchanted with Luck Of the Sea. However, the Shrek’s Lucky Pole is incredibly slow, and as such it’s lure is usually bypassed with a bug (THIS IS ALLOWED). The steps for executing this are as follows
- Cast your Primary Rod
- When a fish bites your bobber quickly switch to the Shrek’s lucky pole and reel in.
If you own Ugliest Duckling rod this should also be the method with which you activate Captain Hook’s Rapid Reel, on the 3rd or 4th catch rodswap to the Captain Hook’s Reel
WORMS :D
Using worms is relatively simple, here is what you will need.
- Primary Rod (ANY)
- Shrek’s Lucky/Luckiest Pole
- Cupid’s Catcher (Optional But VERY useful)
- 3/4 Mermaid (Preferably Ariel) armor
- Ghost Boots
Simply charge up your Shrek’s Luck with the primary rod, catch a fish with Shrek’s luckiest pole, and reel as many fish as you can with your best rod (Cupid’s Catcher)!
To prevent items from dropping on the ground 1x of every item you would like to keep should be placed in your inventory before you start. No need to worry about specials and ultras, you can pick them up when Shrek’s luck is over.
