Kitpvp [1.8+] Elf

This Kit is based on Archer and got the name from another kit’s fantasy name. (Dwarf)

Elf
Equippment: Bow with Knockback 2, Power 2, Punch 1 and Infinity, no hat, dark green leather chestplate with projectile protection 2, chainmal leggings, brown leather boots with featherfalling 4, and a full inventory of soups.
(all armor with unbreaking 5 and protection 2)
Description: Every 10 seconds, the Elf can equip a power arrow by dropping it’s bow and shoot it at full drawn, else canceled.
This arrow is so powerful, it adds 0.5 damage for every 3 blocks it travels and knocks the Elf back, too.
Unlike the Archer, the Elf only gets it’s speed 3 effect after using this ability for 8 seconds.
The Knockback is purely for transport to higher and further platforms, the damage may be rarely used.
Natural Enemies: Falcon, Archer, Elementalist, Crossbow.

Tip: When able to use ability, jump before shooting to get max transportation speed. (wish I could colour this white)

Next thread you make say get rid of crap crossbow kit

One word: Huh?

I don’t know if I am following your logic on this kit. “Unlike the Archer, the Elf only gets it’s speed effect after using this ability for 8 seconds on 3.” What does that even mean? Also are you sure you want to do power THREE double damage? You do realize that power III at full power and critically hits deals 20 damage total (1 Shots anything with no armor)? So you are trying to say that this kit should be able to do 40 DAMAGE? Are you high today…? This kit would put Crossbow to shame!

Even power II damage critcal doubled would be way too much. (18 * 2 = 36). The idea of double damage is a bit… lets say much.

Sry, it was my first kit suggestion on munchy and don’t know much about the bow. (even though im a badass in aim)
When the ability is used, Speed 3 is applied for 8 seconds.
And if that one user comes here to say it’s a ripoff of something…
YES, it’s a ripoff of the Wynncraft Archer Class on Lv11.

Now that i fully understand the kit, I am afraid to say this would be way too powerful. Bow damage is inconsistent when it comes to increasing power damage.

This information is provided assuming that the bow is at full pull back.
A regular bow deals 9 damage with a 1/5 chance of dealing 10.
A power I bow deals 14 damage with a 1/5 chance of dealing 15.
A power II bow deals 17 damage with a 1/5 chance of dealing 18.
A power III bow deals 19 damage with a 1/5 chance of dealing 20.
A power IV bow deals 22 damage with a 1/5 chance of dealing 23.
A power V bow deals 24 damage with a 1/5 chance of dealing 25.

The main focus is the fact that the power boost jump between a regular bow all the way to power III is very high in numerical value. The highest increment being +5 damage (2 and a half hearts), that would mean you are almost dealing DOUBLE damage of the regular bow just off of power I. Now looking at power III dealing 19 damage consistently, we can easily see that comparing the damage of kitpvp is roughly 11.25 damage, one can easily see that while yes the bow deals more damage, it deals the damage much slower. While 1 bow shot would do 19 damage in one second, the pvp kit can deal 2 hits of 11.25 damage in the same second interval. With that being said, pvp is dishing out 22.5 damage every second, while power III can only dish out 19. Now if we double the damage of a power III bow, it would be dealing on average 38 damage with a 1/5 chance of dealing 40. I mean right off the spot, that one shots practically any leather kit, with the exception of high protection leveled kits such as viper or snail (provided that damage mitigation is not accounted for). If it wasn’t able to one shot though, it would still be doing way too much damage in the same interval. Let’s say for example we have a 2 second interval. That would mean on average, kit pvp could get about 4 hits, dealing approximately 45 damage, while elf kit could get a total of 57 to 60 damage (2 hits in 2 seconds). Generally speaking, if a bow is dealing more damage in the same interval of time that of a melee kit (using the basic kit as reference), then the bow is probably doing too much damage. The only kit we currently have that is barely skidding near the damage interval is crossbow, dealing approximately 44 to 46 damage in 2 seconds.

With that being said, if we used this kit, it would be like a crossbow that has been lifting weights with their arrows.

There’s a really weird part of the bow on munchymc.
When equipping the archer kit, I only get 3 damage per shot in an archer 1v1.
The ninja does 9 damage per hit and regular kit does 6 damage on me.

But i will consider your comment and nerf this kit in my suggestion.

EDIT: Edited.

Interesting idea, now the problem is the stats. The only protection it can get is 8% damage against arrows and 64% against falling damage. While yes this would make it very easy to just camp in an area very high above ground, any melee strikes and range strikes could potentially wipe this kit off the face of the planet. As mentioned before an archer with power III can deal up to 20 damage to a target. Now provided that all damage is received without any mitigation occurring, a 20 damage arrow will deal 17.37 damage, or 8 and a half hearts. Talk about saying OW MAN THAT HURT! It is also unfortunate that a kit such as archer can barely keep kits such as ninja at bay with a punch I bow, so elf is bound to take damage from ninja sword strikes. Since there is absolutely no protection against any sword strikes they take the incoming 10.75 damage only factored into armor absorption. You are taking approximately 10.34 damage every hit from a ninja, or a little over 5 hearts. So essentially two hits, and you are gone. This is obvious compared to another kit, Elementalist, who only carries 6 armor points, however has full set of protection III for a total damage reduction of 36%. Now considering Elementalist has a good sword too. That is one of the many reasons it does so well in various situations. Adding some protection would be very useful considering its in a state where abomination can look at this kit and laugh.

The arrow ability however, is something else entirely. This gives true meaning to a Sharp-shooter and the true definition of the risk-reward system. This kit requires that you hit the target, else you lose the cooldown and the damage you would have dealt. Being able to shoot from afar would mean great advantages for you, all the while providing some leeway for one to shoot at normal distance and gain maybe a heart or two of extra damage every 10 seconds, along with a speed ability. I do believe there should be a cap on the amount of damage you can deal, say 8 hearts of damage total in one hit.

While I do think there are some tweaks that need to be done and other things modified to fit the current meta, I think an addition of another archery kit would not be a bad idea!

So you think it needs some more protection and the ability arrow should be removed from the ability and moved over to a passive ability for only elf? Because a sharpshooter is not shooting with a scope. (im sharpshooting with switcher snowballs)
The Elf is able to escape a Ninja.
First the ability, it boosts the Elf backwards like in Wynncraft, then Speed 3 is applied making Elf as fast as Ninja for 8 seconds, 2 seconds between speed 3 and another ability boost.

I’m not sure if you saw that one change… Power 2…

The new ability arrow is from Mineplex’s archer kit, that can be used in 3 diffrent gamemodes.

No no, I didn’t mean it in terms of using a scope. Rather, the idea is really prevalent to aspects of sharp shooting and long distance shots. The idea is fine where it is currently. Power II wont change a whole lot, but will be preferred by the general audience of Munchy (due to so many people not liking range kits). The ability would be fine as you stated in the description, just with a damage cap at 8 hearts of damage.
Protection is definitely a necessity, perhaps protection II or III full-set would suffice.
