Hello!
It came to the community attention that a set of specific rules for gamemaker is on the works, since it now utilizes the same set of basic rules of other gamemodes despite having its own issues.
So it was suggested to us to start here on the forums a discussion on what rules are most needed and appropriated to be implemented on Gamemaker. I decided to get the ball rolling and suggesting a few of my own and hope to read more from the players as well.
- specific rules for griefing a map, resulting in temp ban or permanent ban if the person do it over and over again;
as we are now if you conceive builder perms to a player in your map and this player griefs it is kinda of your loss since you gave them permission; but in my opinion not having a penalty for griefing in a map you have been giving perms makes people unsure about collaborating with players they dont know very well for fear of having their work ruined and the person unpunished.
- specific rules for nom collaborative players, especially in pvp maps; there are people who only enter games to either target another player (usually a streamer) and dont play the game at all.
Although we have a ban system in map, I feel like this type of behavior could also be punishable by a temp ban from the server, as it ruins the game for the targeted person and the others playing it.
I have more thoughts but to start those are the ones im putting here. I look forward to see the others suggestions.
PS; refrain from suggesting the same or similar rules that already exist on munchy.

I don’t main Game Maker, but I don’t know about these suggestions, especially the 2nd one.
I do not think a temp ban from the whole Game Maker server is deserved upon playing a PVP map and targeting someone. It can be unfair, sure, but it’s still PVP.
There will be uncooperative players on your map, but them acting like this shouldn’t be a reason to punish them from the server as a whole especially if there are still aligned with the global rules.
If there isn’t such system already, have one that works so that you can provide a moderator rank to your map. That role could either Kick a player, Temp ban one or just Permanently ban them from the map.
And that system would be well suited for every single map rather than what you suggested, imo.

I don’t have much of an issue with the first rule, though maybe the punishment could be something more similar to a jail on survival than a server-wide punishment.
As for the second idea, I don’t think a punishment from the server is justified for targetting. I think map makers should be able to make the rules for their map when possible. Obviously global rules regard chat and hacking still apply no matter what, but when it comes to rules about what you can/can’t do in specific gameplay, I think that would be better left up to mapmakers. Also, unlike say teaming or hacking, targetting isn’t even unfair. Annoying yes, but it gives no advantage over another player. However I do have a different idea to mitigate it:
/disguise
This already exists on kit, but unfortunately doesn’t really get used much due to the gamemode being dead. But here’s an idea of how it could be adapted for gamemaker:
-Maker+ gets /disguise to be used infinitely and freely as long as they have the rank
-Maker and voter get a limited amount of disguise time that resets the next day. Voter could even get more time per vote
-Normal and global ranks do not get the ability to disguise at all
-Media and above has access to /mediadisguise, which pretty much works the same as it does on kit
-/redisguise is added and can be used to refresh your disguise to a new name and skin, and works as long as the player is already disguised and their time for the day is still going
-/undisguise or logging off the server stops the countdown of your disguise, assuming you’re maker and voter and thus on a temporary disguise
-Maybe a streamer mode could be added to cause you to see your own skin/name and not have a message saying what you’ve disguised as to help them (aka BadBoyHalo when he occasionally streams there) to avoid targetting. This would only be for media and above.
I think that would reduce targetting while not being as intrusive/punishing as a gamemode-wide rule.
