Gonna ask a follow up to @AriesGrill since I also don’t really understand the role…
Why is this rank needed when there’s already an event team? Why create an entirely separate team of people whose only purpose is to assist others? Why not simply extend an event member’s permissions (Who was already given most of those permissions on Munchy’s currently largest gamemode being KitPvP) to the event server, and do what the current event members already do? (This being asking on the Discord server if someone could assist them in hosting an event, and a moment later you have @iNateCo rolling up on a scooter wanting to host parkour redrover with you)
Obviously I don’t mind there being a team of people whom content creators could message whenever they need help. However, why create an entire team just for that instead of: Extending the current event team, Giving them permissions to help on the event server as well, and Providing them with direct contact with content creators on the staff discord server which they already have access to?
Co-Host - Trusted members of the community that have permissions to assist the Content Creators with their scheduled events
I kinda feel like this is the definition of an event member, only do they host the events themselves and not just assist others in doing them…
Co-Host is actually focused on just helping streamers host their events.
Event Team members were also given a chance to join the Co-Host team before applications started.
There’s also a higher demand for Co-Hosts than the amount of Event Members and some Event Members are not active on the Event server at all, and it wouldn’t make sense to give the inactive Event members Co-Host since mostly everything works different on the Event server than it does during Kit or WW events.
Co-Host is basically just event but renamed so people can easily understand what they do on the Event server.
Miyaki mentioned some of the reasons and a few other reasons would be:
The role’s purpose is very different, Co-Hosts do not host their own events whenever they want, they follow a schedule.
The Event team members were already asked if they would like to be part of the team and some of them that were interested joined.
Co-Hosts have to follow some guidelines that are also very different than the ones the event team members have to follow.
Co-Host commands are very different than the KitPVP/WoolWars event commands that the current event team has to follow and it’s treated very differently as a rank with permissions
and lastly, the process of co-hosting is organized internally in a very specific way made to be efficient for communication and to make assisting with events a lot easier, and we’ve already originally thought about extending the event team but it wouldn’t work out due to the way activity checks work, and other internal reasons.
tl;dr there’s no point in extending the team if almost everything works differently and it would be giving people permissions that they wouldn’t use whether that be people that were already event members getting permissions on the event server when they don’t play there, or people that only play events getting permissions on the rest of the gamemodes when they don’t play there.
