Welcome to the first episode of But What Does It Mean? Ever wonder: what the heck does that name mean? Well, you’re in the right place! Here, we look at the IGNs of the amazing members of the MunchyMC Community!
She is an SMod on survival. She is an SMod on WoolWars. She is a helper on KitPvP. She has way too many tags on Discord for me to mention them all. She has a slightly creepy obsession with a certain green fruit. This week, we will be studying the deeper meaning of the kiwillustrious @Aiadeva’s name!
I think that this will be easiest if we break the name into three parts: Ai-adev-a. These three parts together form a question older than time itself (well, not really, as AI was only invented in the mid-20th century).
Ai (also stylized AI): obviously, everyone knows what this means. Unless you’ve lived under a rock for the past 75 years, then AI means artificial intelligence.
adev (also stylized a dev): Yet another easy one. “A dev” means “a developer”. Developers build games and stuff. Coding. Etcetera.
a (also stylized A…): Yeah. The first letter of the alphabet. Amazing. Also used as a word in English.
Well, there we have the separate pars. But together, what do they mean? Well, using our eyes, we will put them together: AI-A Dev-A. We could stylize this even more: “AI:A Dev, A…” As you can see, the kiwi lady is telling us the uses of AI. Game developers often use AI in their coding (refer to the Minecraft villager). Maybe sometime in the future, AI will code a game and in a sense be a developer. Who knows?
But that only covers two of the three sections. What does the third one mean?
Obviously, Aiadeva is trying to show us the limitless nature of AI. What can AI do? Will it take over the world, The Matrix-style? Or more towards The Terminator? Will it become a tool, or ultimately our master? What will AI become? Aia is asking us to fill in the three dots at the end of her name: AI: A Dev, A… What do you think will happen in our future? And how will AI influence it? These are the questions that she is trying to make us think of.
