I know people have the right to vote yet I find it irritating when people without any idea comment on builds judging you by their perspective. Along side that.

People are also saying that builder applications need detail. The point of creating a builder application is to feature your builds, not write a 800 word essay stating stuff that is not compulsory for anything.

And the last thing would be people applying for builds need to think of something unique, they keep applying with a standard Village, or a castle… Why not some ultra Mountain Tent design or VS/WE Mix Scenery.

I do not want this to be taken in a toxic way in any state, yet I feel like I have more than a point.

That’s understandable, since those people don’t know anything about building. However, it is important to know what the community thinks of you (since you are building to make it a better place for them) and it’s still good to get feedback from regular players.

I think writing a lot and getting into detail shows you care. If I looked at two different applications and one had a one sentence answer for every question, I would be less likely to accept them, unlike the person who put detail into their answers. Also, detail shows effort, if you want the position it is important to show that you actually care and took time to make an application and edit and respond.

What you said I completely agree. I can go to a level of irritation. By that I mean I am seeing people looking at standard Quartz castles in the neather, flat walls with no texture then putting +1 under it. And yeh it is good to get feedback yet some people don’t think about the actual build they just think about ‘do they like it’ ‘would they want it in the server’. And yeh I know about 1 sentence answers but if you look for an example my application. It is the standard amount of set words, to go further would not be necessary in any way. I have included all detail that needs to be there.

I agree with you

People take applications way too seriously

I also wonder why people even care if they don’t spend all day on an application. All that matters is the info Warlock needs and how good the builds look.

You need to take an application seriously. What if a builder abused their perms and made a secret chest area outside with tons of chests, built inappropriate things, or even worse? Applications are meant for you to tell the server about yourself and why you think you would be a good candidate, along with other information to see if people think you wouldn’t abuse your power, and etc.

Toxic people won’t really get Builder unless they’re builds are really good. So obviously, the builds looking good isn’t really the only factor.
Of course, I have no experience in accepting/denying applications, but this is really just common sense here.

Perhaps, but feedback is usually meant to help you. If you don’t believe it is constructive, then take the rating with a grain of salt. Community input does not necessarily determine whether or not you will be accepted for the position.

You shouldn’t stress about the amount of detail in your application so long as the requirements are met and you have given enough information.
