like [Warden]Napkin0fVembz said, if someone is actively conspiring with a blacklisted player to do something against the rules like doxxing, playing with them ingame, teaming, threatening people, etc. they will be blacklisted themself, so we already do not allow people to do these things. Your reply before this last one, and the last paragraph you wrote in this last reply of yours about culpability implies that something should be done about any off-server communication whatsoever with blacklisted players, and while I agree morally that hanging out with these people intentionally is bad, like Napkin explained - if it was just bans for casual communication or being in a call eventually prison would just be Luga and a few others because everyone would be banned. We will continue to ban people (for example Grailed) who we have evidence work with blacklisted players to do the previously described things (playing ingame, doxxing, etc.)
ok and if someone in a vc with faris pretends to be them by getting them to speak for them on feather client on an account called “okxyfaris” again?
I mean cmon man, that’s just wasting people’s time.
Edit: oh idk if you actually saw that happen or not. Basically what I mean is, sometimes people are proper asking for it, but they caught up in mindgames of whether it’s “fair” and that was one situation where it kept going on for a while, past the point it should have done, because of very literal minded interpretations of rules.
Why are we really scraping the bottom of the barrel at this point about a case of someone apparently impersonating Faris in chat while as you say being in a vc with him? If someone is intentionally impersonating a blacklisted player in chat I would and would encourage other staff members give them a mute for doing so (and try to see if they were the impersonated person’s account).
I was one of the doxxed people but blaming the staff isn’t okay. They have helped me so much through this scary thing. DonutJack would stay up past 5 AM just to make sure that I was okay. InfernalFae (who isn’t even prison staff) did whatever she could do to contact me about what happened. Doxxing is a scary thing but this sort of thing can easily happen, unfortunately. But, it’s not fair to blame the hardworking staff members because there’s only so much they can do. And Red has been nothing but nice and sweet towards me. I feel like you’re creating unnecessary drama in the forums - if you feel this way, you should directly message a mod because this is making it much more worse - and I’m saying this with love. I understand your frustrations but the staff can only do so much.
Also, I was not doxxed by 5 Ping. I want to clarify that.
It’s a case where something happened. I’ll try clarify.
“that something should be done about any off-server communication whatsoever with blacklisted players”
Not exactly what I mean, just that it should be understood that it “isn’t allowed” or perhaps “done at user’s own risk”
Then if something happens, like them encouraging a new or naive player to dox someone, or pretendin to be faris or whatever, stuff can come back to people who have something to lose. So they’re not gonna be dumb or let other people get suckered in. I mean, who owns all these vcs that they let bl’d players in, prison players right?
just imagine the line “dude shut up faris i dont wanna get temp banned” killing a problem before it starts.
As for scraping the bottom of the barrel… That’s because things are a lot better than they used to be! The height of the doxxing culture was back in map 7 and thanks to moderation and the maturing playerbase, we don’t see anything like that anymore. Just the ghost of it remaining, occasionally causing problems like this.
Well yes of course it is at your own risk but we will not punish you for just being in a call with them. We only punish you if we catch you teaming with a blacklisted player with the intent of teaming with them.
Congratulations you have still not answered literally any of my questions at all like I told you to! Just hitting home the stupid narrative you keep driving of “oh well uh 5ping wasn’t exactly meant to be blacklisted and uh he wasn’t exactly that bad despite 4 people who probably leaked themselves into this situation despite the fact they did nothing and are literally the victims of the attack yeah let’s blame it on them”
Absolutely delusional. Do better
This post has gone off the rails and will be locked to cool down the discussion. Please watch your tone everyone.
This is my final and summarizing response on this topic.
As I said (because I don’t think you read it) someone impersonated 5ping to try to get them blacklisted (apart from a few things that are not blacklist worthy), which is why they aren’t blacklisted. The actual person behind it is.
I am not in the slightest blaming the people who were doxxed, I’m just warning people to watch out with what personal information they associate with their Minecraft IGN on the internet as it can easily result in your information being found online.
