Survival Starter Base Competition

Given world reset is tomorrow I feel the competition should be extended by a day, most people can’t or don’t want to work on a base with stuff going on tomorrow! Normally this wouldn’t be a problem if the contest didn’t end early for most at 10 am est.

Not to mention that survival at least right now is having huge connectivity problems with half its members getting dc’d after being in for a couple of seconds.

Could be good, though I think it depends on how long the connection issue lasts. If it’s like, say, 3-4 hours it might not make enough of a difference compared to like 12 hours of the problem persisting.

I wouldn’t mind an extension despite being done with my entry, in the pursuit of fairness and maybe giving extra time for people to enter on a whim :D

I get it’s a starter base competition and people should be entering non huge things, but since most people spent their time getting materials and good items at first then they give us a single week to make it work, this whole event schedule is unfavorable to me! I feel we obviously shouldn’t get a month but since this cuts into the end being opened and people are gonna want to get end loot and such I believe it should be extended by a day. Maybe two but to be fair a day.

Question, is custom terrain more or less of a pain to dig the hole with?

Looks like the deadline was moved to 12PM EST

AMAZING question drex! It’s a MILLION times easier!! I’m so thankful for the custom biomes because although there’s some deeplate, it’s not all the way down where I’m digging and it turns into blackstone (which instamines) Sooo yeah it’s so much better than last season :)

Favorite part of Season 5 so far: Actually being on Munchy for the beginning of a new season (I first joined the server a few months into season 4). Will say, very chaotic but also quite fun, especially with the skills system.

Name of Build: Hartworth Academy (Groundskeeper’s House)

The lore this season is that Hartworth Academy is an old-money, long-abandoned private college that I (as the builder) am slowly uncovering, with plans for classic buildings like dorms, dining halls, libraries, and a ruined chapel. My starter base is the groundskeeper’s house and it’s only going to grow from here!

(Notable areas include a storage section for bulk goods, a brewing area, enchantment table setup, and a bed.)

Favorite part of Season 5 so far: Definitely the trial chamber looting! I didn’t think I would have so much fun, but wow is it cool! The skills are neat, too, although the leveling is kind of the bane of my existence.

Favorite parts of S5: the new skills add a nice twist to the tasks of regular survival that would typically be considered mundane. The new world generation is another treat that’s been introduced. It’s a lovely pastime to wander the overworld exploring the unique types of biomes, as well as the occasional treat of a natural generated structure :)

Favorite part about season 5 so far? My favorite thing about season 5 is the custom biomes! I can argue this is the most impactful thing of season 5 too. Though some people claim the class system is the biggest impact it mainly impacts people who have unlocked a specific class, custom biomes impacts everyone regardless of them being ranked or rich in game! Not to mention the beauty some of these biomes have, with this they make more people wish to base in unique locations and also the custom structures make it so people who don’t wish to make their own living space have one! It really makes survival feel so vibrant and this draws the poor attention spans of people today to play it.

Bonus Build Information

Description of the Build: **Few are as well versed in the ways of the mystic arts as Drex, showing natural talents but new techniques he was the target of many threats keen to know his the sources of his power. Intent on being alone he created the Mystic Monastery out of nothing but pure magic alone, along with that magic he set up a protector should he be away to guard this monastery. That protector is Goondalf his apprentice Axolotl. The Crystal Serpent coiling around the Monastery ready to strike foes at any point, is but a scarecrow in compared to Goondalf’s true abilities…

Features: The monetary is an excellent learning ground in the mystic arts. With its portal to the dangerous nether region, its vast library, and the training floor, it proves magic can be learned anywhere, but better mastered here. Protection from a giant crystal serpant that can gnaw through anything but netherite and diamond has ensured safety of all who have traveled here, but for those who sneak past its defenses shall face its final test. The High Mage Himself. And shortly learn, there are fates worse than death.

Welcome and Goodbye message (please don’t look if you’re judging as this is a surprise for you all when you look at my base in person 😉)

(No I didn’t have a misnumber in the leave message, it said one THOUGHT ran down all four travelers minds and skep as the village idiot doesn’t think!)
